Any questions about Personal Training or Nutrition in Essex?

Most people feel nervous or intimidated to ask for help with their health or fitness. Below I have tried to answer the most common questions that I get asked by clients. But if you need any more information or a specific question answered, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with me and I will be happy to get back to you. All information given will be held in the strictest confidence. Thank you.

Do I need to be fit to get started?

It doesn’t matter if you have never exercised before. I am here to help you no matter what level you are. We will take it at a pace that is just right for you, so you feel comfortable, whilst still reaching your goals.

Will I look like a bodybuilder if I

lift weights?

This is a very common question. In short the answer is no, women don’t bulk up. But building a certain amount of muscle has numerous health benefits and gives a toned look.

How likely am I to reach my goals?

I am 100% certain that you can reach your goals. I am also realistic that sometimes life throws things at us which can slow down our progress. At the start we will look at certain situations or feelings which may stop you from keeping on track and put plans into place to help prevent it. But if you do drift off track, we will work together to find out why and find a solution for you.

Do I need to have my own equipment?

I will be bringing all the equipment you need, to you. All you need is yourself, trainers, water and a small towel if needed.

I feel anxious about training.

Being anxious or worried about starting something new is completely normal. Just make sure to let me know at the beginning of a session, so I know how you are feeling. We will always take it at your own pace and my number one priority is to always make sure you are feeling comfortable.

I have an injury, will I be able to do it?

As long as your doctor has said you are able to exercise, we are ready to go! All exercises can be adapted for you. If you are unable to exercise, the priority is to get you up and running again as quickly and safely as possible. There are lots of other things that we can work on in the meantime, such as lifestyle changes, nutrition and mind-set which will all help you achieve your long term goals.

What happens if I need to cancel a session?

Sessions need to be cancelled a minimum of 24 hours in advance. We can then rearrange the session for a later date.

What kind of training will I be doing?

Our sessions are tailored specifically to you, your needs, your likes and dislikes. It could combine a mixture of resistance training, cardiovascular training, functional movements, weight training, stretching and high intensity interval training. Your sessions will also include a variety of different equipment.

Where do we train?

We have two options, first, is in your own home. Just make sure the room that you pick has enough room for you to lie down and not hit your head if you were to jump!

The second option, is to train in my home. With both options, all the equipment you need will be provided.

What do I need to wear?

The most important thing is that you wear clothes that you can move freely in and feel comfortable wearing. The only thing I would recommend you wearing is some suitable trainers to protect your feet!

Before a session we will have pre-arranged a time and also the method you would prefer for me to contact you; either phone, facetime, skype or in person.
